The Basic Skills Program is traditionally offered to teach basic skating skills to children ages 5 and
up.
The program consists of two 10-week sessions.  The fall
session starts in early October and the winter session
starts early January.
Dates for this session are:
October 1, 15, 22, 29
November 5, 12, 19
December 3, 10, 17

The program runs from 10:00 a.m until 12:00  p.m. on
Saturday mornings during the SCFL skating season.
The program outline is as follows:

  10:00-10:20 am = 20 minute group lessons
   10:20-10:40 am = 20  minute group lessons
   10:40-11:00 am =   group lessons (if necessary)
otherwise practice time.
11:00-11:50 = Advanced/Adult Lessons
When the skaters are not in lessons, there will be a
section of ice available for them to free skate on.
       
                       
Our Basic Skills Program includes:
       Snow Plow Sam - Levels 1-3
       Basic Skills -        Levels 1-6
       Adult Basic Skills
As each skater progresses through the Basic Skills levels, they advance their skating skills and
earn achievement patches.  Many of our Basic Skills skaters graduate into advanced Junior level
skaters.
Each Basic Skills Member receives the following:
       Official Basic Skills Membership Card
       Basic Skills Record Book w/ Stickers
       Offical Basic Skills Membership Patch
       Year Patch
       Sports Accident Insurance Coverage
       General Information about Skating

The highlight of the program is the SCFL Annual Ice Show at the end of the winter session.  Each
skater is encouraged to participate and skate with their group in this exciting event.
